The CWL headquarters is located at Rancho Verde, a 12.5 acre eco-industrial park on Chicago’s west side. Rancho Verde has won numerous awards for its innovative, environmentally sensitive approach to the redevelopment of a brownfield site. The headquarters building is certified LEED Platinum, the highest classification granted by the US Green Building Council for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). 1988 Christy Webber begins cutting grass around Chicagoís Wicker Park neighborhood.
1998 CWL wins bid to maintain the United Center.
2003 Webber forms the development company Chicago GreenWorks and begins planning for construction
of Rancho Verde.
2004 CWL completes landscape installation of Millennium Park, the companyís biggest job to date.
2006 CWL purchases Frederick Corporation in Blue Island, expands landscaping services to the surrounding suburbs and begins offering comprehensive commercial snow removal services.
2007 CWL headquarters building receives LEED Platinum rating, the US Green Building Councilís highest classification for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).
2008 CWL purchases Grand Street Gardens retail garden center.

What is ICLA certification?
It is a voluntary, national, hands-on testing program administered by the Illinois Landscape Contractors Associations (ILCA) that seeks to recognize proficiency in the landscape workforce and upgrade the status of the landscape professional. Certification recognizes those landscape technicians who demonstrate they can meet strict performance and safety standards in installation or maintenance modules.
