CTA

Christy Webber Landscapes was contracted by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) to clear snow from 122 above-ground L platforms in the city. Whenever snow removal service is requested by the CTA, we mobilize enough labor to man every station with at least one employee in a two-hour time frame. We shovel snow from all station entrances, stairways, walkways, and platforms for the duration of each snowfall. This contract represented the first time in the history of the CTA that a private contractor cleared L station platforms of snow. Exceptional performance through the first two years of the contract led to a three-year renewal of the contract.

Weather Alert

Winter is here, Chicago, and it's time to make sure your landscapes are ready for the cold season ahead. A few tips from our experts: be sure to wrap your arborvitaes to protect them from the wind and snow; make sure your leaves are picked up to avoid potential icy hazards; shut down and put away fountains and/or fountain pumps and clean out and prepare your bird feeders for winter visitors.
