Welcome to Rancho Verde
In December 2006, we moved into our brand new "green" headquarters. The building has received LEED Platinum rating from the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and is the capstone of a 12.5 acre eco-industrial park named Rancho Verde. For further information please visit: chicagogreenworks.com
History: Since the mid-1990’s, Christy Webber Landscapes searched for a suitably large and conveniently located permanent home within the central portion of the City of Chicago.
The company considered many sites throughout the more industrial sections of its West Side, even proposing to redevelop the building now known as the Chicago Center for Green Technology (CCGT).
In 2003, the City of Chicago approached the company about putting together a proposal to develop the 12 acre site just to the east of the CCGT. The principals of Christy Webber Landscapes assembled a professional team and formed a company now called Chicago GreenWorks. Three years later, this new company began construction on this eco-industrial park.
